Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are the requirements for High School Graduation?

ACA follows the Georgia Department of Education requirements for High School Graduation. You can view the GA DOE complete requirements here:  Georgia High School Requirements

What about the Georgia HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarships?

These scholarships are available to qualifying students. Please read the Georgia requirements by visiting the Georgia Student Finance Commission’s Hope & Zell Miller Information page on GaFutures.  This link will also explain the difference between the HOPE and the Zell Miller Scholarships as well as the Rigor Requirements needed to be eligible for the Zell Miller Scholarship.

Please note that ACA does not calculate or determine GPA eligibility for the HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarships. All final eligibility decisions—including GPA calculations—are made solely by the Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC), based on their official guidelines and criteria.

How do we prepare for college?

Parents with college-bound students often worry that they are not doing enough to prepare for college. With the resources and tools now available online (many for free) you should rest assured that you can prepare yourself and your students for a successful transition into college.

*College Board offers a wonderful website FULL of information and helpful tools for parents and students.

*GaFutures.org is another amazing website packed with more information that you’ll need to learn about both high school requirements and college entrance. This site also has wonderful surveys to help you and your student learn about their career strengths and help you to formulate an educational path together.

While ACA prepares students for college success, admission decisions are ultimately made by individual colleges and universities. We encourage families to carefully review the admissions requirements and guidelines provided by each institution through their official websites and admissions offices.
